Sometimes, life can feel overwhelming. Maybe you're struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck in your relationships, or simply don't know which path to take next. Perhaps you've been carrying something heavy for too long. Whatever's brought you here today, I want you to know that reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.
I'm Carol, and I'm a BACP Registered Member and Person-Centred Therapist. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can be heard. My approach is simple: I believe you have the ability to heal yourself and figure out your own path. I'm here to walk alongside you whilst you do exactly that. I offer support for adults, young adults, and older adults (18+), both online across the UK and face-to-face at my practice in Driffield.
Whether you're looking for short-term support to work through something specific or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns, we can figure that out together. I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation where we can have a chat without any obligation. You can tell me a bit about what's brought you to therapy, ask any questions you have, and see if we'd work well together. If we're not the right match, that's absolutely fine. Finding the right therapist matters.
Think of counselling as a space that's entirely yours. No judgement. No pressure to be anyone other than yourself. In our sessions, you'll have the chance to explore what's really going on beneath the surface, to untangle the thoughts that keep you awake at night, and to work towards becoming a stronger, more contented version of yourself.
My role isn't to tell you what to do or fix you (because you're not broken). Instead, I'm here to listen, to hold you in a safe space, and to help you establish your inner self. I'll show you compassion, empathy, respect, and honesty, enabling you to build your self-worth and confidence at a pace that feels right for you.
People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes it's anxiety that won't shift, depression that's taken hold, or relationships that feel draining. Other times it's about building confidence, improving self-esteem, or simply feeling confused about which path to take. You might be processing something traumatic, working through the effects of coercive control, or trying to understand patterns that keep repeating.
I'm particularly passionate about supporting men with their mental health, as this remains such an undervalued area. I also have experience working with trauma, including sexual abuse, domestic violence, and the complex feelings that come with these experiences. Whatever's weighing on you, we can work through it together.
My practice is based in Driffield, East Yorkshire, in a quiet residential cul-de-sac with free parking available right outside. It's a calm, private space where you can feel comfortable and relaxed.
Driffield is well connected by public transport, with a train station offering regular services and good bus links throughout the area. If you're travelling by car, there's plenty of off-street parking, and the location is easy to find.
I work with clients from across East Yorkshire and North Yorkshire, including those in Beverley, Bridlington, Hull, Scarborough, York, Pocklington, Market Weighton, Malton, Hornsea, and Filey. I also offer online sessions via Zoom, so you can access support from anywhere in the UK.
Payment is by bank transfer and should be made in advance of each session. I'll send you my payment details once we've arranged our first appointment.
I hold a limited number of concession slots for those who may need financial support. If cost is a barrier to accessing therapy, please get in touch to discuss what might be possible.
Life happens, and I understand that sometimes you'll need to reschedule. I ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment. Unfortunately, sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will need to be paid for in full, as that time has been reserved specifically for you.
Taking the step to get in touch can feel daunting, but I'm glad you're here. Whether you're ready to book that free initial consultation or just want to ask a few questions first, I'd love to hear from you. I'll usually get back to you within 24 hours (Monday to Friday). If you don't hear from me, please check your spam folder just in case, or feel free to drop me another message.
You can also call me on 07726 677565 if you would like to leave a message or speak to me first.
Whatever's brought you here today, know that you're taking a positive step. There's no pressure, no judgement, and no expectations. Just a conversation to see if I might be the right person to support you.
